Nayantara’s IP experience (including trademarks, copyrights, patents and industrial design) includes prosecution IP which comprises of drafting of oppositions, evidence statements, cease and desist notices, counter statements etc. Nayantara also has extensive experience in patents, including patent drafting, protection, enforcement, prosecution, appeals, opposition, revocations, etc. Nayantara regularly appears and argues before the various Trademark Offices, Design Office and Copyright Office as well as intellectual property litigation before various Indian High Courts and the Supreme Court of India.

Nayantara also regularly deals with litigation risk assessment and advises clients on risk management and mitigation of IP portfolios including third party IP infringement and other matters.

Nayantara also has extensive experience in transactional IP which includes advising the clients in all areas of IP transactions including patents, copyrights, trademarks, contracts, due diligence, enforcement, unfair competition disputes, licensing agreements, regulatory guidance and related legal issues. She has negotiated business and strategic collaborations such as joint ventures, co-development arrangements, and various supply, manufacturing and distribution agreements including advising client in relation to purchase of IP assets, mergers and acquisitions and structuring deals, procurement and outsourcing, research, development and exploitation agreements.

Nayantara’s clients span across industries having worked with renowned clients including global fortune 500 beverage company, healthcare, consumer products, Indian state government, jewellery manufacturers, actors and influencers, movie production houses, listed companies, international industry associations, various IP enforcement societies, technology and telecom companies amongst other global and Indian companies.

Prior to joining ALMT Legal Nayantara was a partner at another law firm in Mumbai and Kochi.
