Ahetesham Ahmed A. Thaver is an Associate Partner with ALMT Legal. Ahetesham began working with ALMT Legal as a paralegal whilst he was pursuing his law degree in 2015. His areas of practice include Labour and Employment, Commercial Disputes and Arbitration, Intellectual Property, Immigration, and White Collar Crimes.
Ahetesham specialises in the niche practice area of Labour and Employment law and has been consistently recognised by legal publications for his dedicated contribution. Legal 500 2024 Edition has listed Ahetesham as ‘Rising Star’ for Labour and Employment law practice for the fifth year in a row and has also recognised him as a ‘key lawyer’. His expertise in Labour and Employment law has been largely derived from advising several multinational companies on all aspects of Indian Labour and Employment law, which include matters relating to employee disputes, employment documentation including structuring company policies, workforce restructuring including implementing terminations and closure of undertaking, ESOPs, data privacy laws and other employment advisory matters. Ahetesham regularly advises clients on laws relating to prevention of sexual harassment at workplace, anti-bribery and corruption, conducting workplace investigations and is often appointed as the investigation officer to investigate misconduct and violations of company policies.
Besides his Labour and Employment practice, Ahetesham has experience in handling high stake commercial disputes, arbitrations and white collar crime matters and regularly represents clients before various forums. Ahetesham has also assisted various clients to registration of trade marks in India as well as several other jurisdictions and also represented clients in opposition proceedings. Ahetesham also has the experience in advising clients on various types of visas and other immigration requirements.
Apart from his practice as a lawyer, Ahetesham is associated with educational institutions as a Guest Lecturer.

- A leading multinational manufacturer of drugs, pharmaceuticals and diagnostics products on the applicable employment laws and the specific compliances therein such as registrations, employee hiring procedures, employment contracts, methods of termination of employment, social security and health and safety;
- A leading US based multinational software company with large presence in India on reduction of workforce, payment of bonus, post-termination obligations and closure of undertaking;
- A UK based company on various modes of setting up business in India and advised on all the applicable labour and employment laws in India, immigration requirements for deputing high rank employees to Indian entity, engaging consultants and the background check requirements in India;
- A leading portfolio advisory company on the law governing disciplinary proceedings in India and assisting the clients in conducting disciplinary proceedings and preparing requisite documents;
- A European company with presence in India for preparing a policy on payment of gratuity under the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972 for all its Indian employees;
- Several clients involved in employment disputes before Conciliation Officers, Labour Courts and Bombay High Court;
- Several clients on the compliance under law on prevention of sexual harassment at workplace and creating awareness at the workplace including preparing and conducting training sessions for the Internal Complaints Committee members, the Human Resource department and the management staff.
