Suman is a partner of ALMT Legal and has over three decades of experience and practice in Corporate and Commercial, M&A, Dispute Resolution, Real Estate, Matrimonial and Private client work. She has graduated from Bombay University with a bachelor’s degree in commerce and has read law from the prestigious Government Law College, Mumbai.

She has worked with leading law firms’ namely Crawford Bayley & Co and Luthra and Luthra and thereafter with an eminent business conglomerate namely Hinduja Group Limited and their group companies i.e Hinduja Ventures Limited, Hinduja Hospital/ Hinduja College, IndusInd Bank , Gulf Oil Limited, Hinduja Global Solutions Limited and Nxt Digital Limited.

Suman has acted for large corporates and multinationals in their acquisition both in the domestic as well as international market, done M&A and cross border deals with fortune 500 companies as also listed companies. She has represented several international banks and business houses for syndication of loans and agreements.

She has a special focus and expertise in various areas of litigation both civil and criminal matters related to company petitions for winding up, schemes of amalgamations for large corporates.

Suman has advised and assisted in handling matters before the Supreme Court, High Courts /lower courts /appellate authorities. Have represented clients’ (in firm acting as instructing attorneys) on several litigation matters and provided key pre- litigation strategies to clients in industries such as media, entertainment, real estate, infrastructure and financial services.

She has been actively engaged in other Dispute Resolution processes such international & domestic Arbitrations. Advised clients on strategies, potential disputes and mediations, and have been involved in several matters involving complex issues of law.

Have advised a variety of clients, including domestic and international companies and high net worth individuals. Assisted clients in several arbitrations, negotiations and in drawing up settlements.

She has advised clients being investors (both individual and corporate), developers, construction companies on the full range of real estate related transactions i;e mortgage, purchase, sale, lease, license, development or financing of real estate projects and related matters. Providing regulatory and FEMA related advice to venture capitalists/offshore funds and real estate investors in matters relating to investment in real estate in India. Assisting overseas clients in setting up their offices/ retail stores on a license /leasehold basis pan India. Assisting clients in the Hospitality Sector on matters relating to structuring and negotiating the joint ventures, drafting of operating agreements, hotel management agreements and brand licensing agreements. Advised co-operative housing societies on legal issues related to transfer of flats in both testamentary and non- testamentary matters.
