As a dual-qualified professional, both as a lawyer and as a chartered accountant, Diya brings over 15 years of combined experience, including more than 9 years of experience in legal mandates. Diya has extensive experience advising on transaction advisory, taxation, mergers & acquisitions, corporate laws and regulatory matters.

Diya brings on board diverse skill sets and expertise in transaction structuring, direct, indirect and international tax, corporate law, and has over a decade of experience advising and assisting clients in their domestic as well as cross border structuring M&A, taxation, corporate matters, and exchange control advisory and compliances.

Diya has advised several clients from multinational companies to domestic companies, as well as family offices. She has also advised clients from diverse sectors such as information technology, real estate, education, e-sports, and retail.

Diya has advised on several cross border transactions and corporate matters such buybacks, mergers, demergers, share purchase, slump sale transactions etc. On a domestic front, Diya has advised on matters such as promoter holding consolidation, dividend distribution strategies, employee stock option plans, family arrangements, etc.

Diya has also advised on topical tax issues such as creation of permanent establishments, withholding tax obligations and compliances, indirect transfers, complex cross border structures and tax treaty evaluations while keeping abreast of the changing international tax scenario as per OECD/ BEPS action plans.

Diya has hands on experience in drafting and filing petitions, applications and responses to notices/ communications received from tax and other regulatory authorities; and appearing before tax and other regulatory authorities, NCLT etc. for diverse range of matters.
